Studio Space & Community

The Studio is 4800 square feet of open, flexible and beautifully designed space located on the third floor of the Bissett School of Business at Mount Royal University.  In addition to spectacular mountain views and gorgeous natural light, we have meeting rooms, hot desks, workshop, collaboration and event spaces.

The Studio

The Studio is open Monday to Thursday, 9:00AM to 4:30PM. If you’re an MRU community member, you can book portions of the Studio for classes, workshops, and meetings. If you’re interested in booking please email an inquiry to tricostudio(at)mtroyal.ca.

The Community

In addition to the Institute for Community Prosperity team, which includes our core and student staff, facilitation partners, and collaborators; the Studio is home to several other institutions and changemakers, who you can learn more about below!

QriTical Hub

QriTical Hub “serves as a connector and intellectual hub for 2SLGBTQIA+ faculty, students, and the broader community at Mount Royal University. The Hub is a space for researchers, teachers, students, and community members to engage with research, pedagogies, and social change mobilizations that challenge cisgender and heterosexual norms from an intersectional lens.”

The Hub is housed at the Trico Changemakers Studio.

The Miistakis Institute

The Miistakis Institute “specializes in evaluating complex environmental problems and using our equally diverse skill sets and tools to resolve them.” The current research focus areas include ecological connectivity, biodiversity, and ecosystem-based climate adapation.

The Miistakis Institute is housed at the Trico Changemakers Studio.

WHAT FOLKS ARE SAYING

Community Member

The Studio has created a safe and inspiring environment for me that has allowed me to re-connect with myself and to grow — both personally and professionally.

Community Member

Having a space — this space in particular — provided us with legitimacy. Connecting to something bigger (the Studio and MRU) helps others make sense of who we are Community Member
